First, Have Your Measurements Taken
Proper measuring and accurate fitting are the key to looking your best in formal wear! For the most personalized service you can schedule an appointment with us and we will be happy to take your measurements for you. Just call 860-274-1988 or click here to schedule your appointment.
Of course, we understand it may be difficult to make it to the shop! If that’s the case, we’ve found independent retailers another great resource. To find a local retailer simply use your manufacturer’s store locator. For example, visit www.alfredangelo.com and locate a store near you.

Next, Choose your Size from our Size Charts
After having your measurements taken, please be sure to use the correct manufacturer’s size chart to choose your size. Select your size based on your measurements. As formalwear is sized differently than retail clothing, we suggest selecting your size based on your body’s largest measurement. You may decide to choose your size based on past experience or personal preference; ultimately you are responsible for the size you select.
If you are taller than 5’8 we suggest ordering your gown with extra length. Please note this may require you to have your garment hemmed. Bridesmaids dresses are NOT made-to-measure and will require some type of alteration.

Choose the method of ordering you prefer, either online or via printed copy which you can mail, email or call in to us.
Once you’ve had your measurements taken and chosen your size from our size charts, use our quick and easy online order form to submit your measurements and place your order!

We strongly suggest all out-of-state party members make payments in full. Merchandise cannot be shipped or picked up without payment in full. Thank You!
What Happens Next!
Thanks for placing your order with us!
Your bridesmaids gowns will be ordered once every bridesmaid has submitted their measurements and deposit payment. Once the order is placed, it will take 12 – 14 weeks for it to be processed, manufactured and shipped. Bridesmaids dresses are only cut once they’ve been ordered, they are not kept in stock.
We will contact the bride and then each bridesmaid to let you know the gowns have arrived.
You can then have your gown shipped…
The Wedding Embassy does offer shipping services. If you haven’t paid for your garment in full we will contact you for your balance payment before shipping your gown. To make this process more prompt please indicate whether or not you’d like to have your gowns shipped on your order form and consider paying for your garment in full when you place your order.
Our shipping fee is a $25 flat rate. All packages are shipped using either UPS or FEDEX and require a signature. If you would like your package shipped with out a signature please fill out the proper information on your order form. Thank You.
You can also arrange to pick up your gown at our shop…
You are welcome to leave your gown with us and pick it up at a convenient time, though we suggest having in your possession at least 1 month before the event date. Your merchandise must be paid in full before it can be picked up. If you live within one hour of the shop we suggest scheduling a try-on when you pick up your gown. Whether or not you use our alterations services, this informal fitting with allow us to review the gown fit with you so that you can be more confident in approaching your alterations.
